May 16, 2013 - Rally for Puget Sound Gateway (SR 509/SR 167/I-5) May 20

City of SeaTac, Wash., May 16, 2013--Supporters of SR 509 and SR 167 will stage a rally on the steps of the State Capitol in Olympia on Monday, May 20 at 10:00 AM. Everyone is invited to show support for the Puget Sound Gateway Project, which will complete SR 509 and SR 167 as well as make enhancements to I-5.

The Puget Sound Gateway Project, developed by the Washington State Department of Transportation and key stakeholders, would create new freight-dependent jobs and economic development opportunities as well as provide congestion relief for commuters in the Puget Sound. The SeaTac City Council recently adopted completion of the SR 509 corridor as a primary goal, as well as including the highway project in its legislative priorities for a number of years.

The Legislative Building is located at 416 Sid Snyder Avenue SW in Olympia.
